Yep, that's a whole in the wall of our office. There was no way to get the tub in other than by going through the next room. I'm just glad that it wasn't one of our bedrooms! Wow, it's starting to look like a bathroom again!

Not so Happy "Fall"...
Um, yeah. That's the downstairs bathroom ceiling... that just happens to be below the upstairs bathroom. This is what happens when you misplace your step while walking on the floor joists. Can you imagine my hubby just hanging there? The kids watched him fall as they were sitting in the hallway watching him work. I'm not sure who was more traumatized- my hubby or the kids! Looks like our third bathroom will be getting a little attention now as well!!!
p.s. No serious harm was done. Just a little bruised leg and ribs and two traumatized kids!

Change of Plans
Can you guess where our change of plans is??? That's right, the tub is gone. Turns out the floor was wet and soft under there, so we will have to replace the floor and the tub... couldn't get it out without tearing it apart! Now we've gone from a "mini reno" to a full-blown reno!!!
On to the Next Project
Our next project is the hall bathroom. Isn't it lovely??? I bet from this picture you can't tell what year our house was built! Harvest gold and avocado green. What a combo! This is the kids' bathroom. They are all about planning what color they want the new walls and tile to be. I haven't told them that they don't get a say. It's going to be neutral, except for the tub. We'll be leaving it green. It's not my favorite color, but it's really in good shap. So.... this one will be a mini renovation. We will basically just be re-doing the tile and the floor.
While we're at it, we are doing the entry tile as well. It has probably one of the worst tile jobs I have ever seen. We will be putting down the same tile that we did in the kitchen. I'm so excited. I know it will look great!

Sneak peak
Ok, I know it's been a while since we started the bathroom project, and it really didn't take that long to finish. The problem is that I picked a horrendous color for the bathroom walls and it took several months to convince my handy hubby to repaint it! Here are some pics of the repainted bathroom. I still haven't decorated it, though, so it's really quite plain. I thought you might want to see some kind of a finished product before I post the start of the next bathroom renovation! (Please excuse the poor picture quality.... I have seemed to misplaced my flash.)

17 days in...
We started this project on January 1. Well, actually, my hubby started this project on January 1!!! It's always tough to do big projects when you just have weekends to work on it, and of course he can't work on all of them because I work nights and sleep during the day... and I work my fair share of weekends! The is as far as the demo has progressed. We still need to remove the shower base and the medicine cabinet. My hubby has spent the afternoon gathering supplies like tile, grout, a toilet, sheet rock and cement board. I'm hoping that this all starts looking like a bathroom soon! We have family coming into town in a couple of weeks and I would love to have at least a sink and toilet to use... I'm not getting my hopes up because I happen to be working next weekend...
And so we begin a new project...
Welcome to our bathroom... our master bath to be exact! It actually isn't very "master" in size or appearance, but we hope to change the appearance for the better!! These are the before pics. As you can see, not only is the bathroom extremely hideous, it will not come clean either. I can't tell you how many times I have scrubbed that shower floor, only to be disappointed that it's still stained! The shower has recently sprung a leak into our kitchen (our new kitchen, that is) so we thought it would be appropriate to do the bathroom next, since we will have to fix that plumbing anyway! The vanity is fairly new and is the only thing that will find it's way back into this bathroom. I have gray slate tile picked out for the floor and white subway tile picked out for the shower. The toilet also won't come entirely clean, so we're replacing it too!
